Gong Xi Fa Chai !!

I'm finally home! yay! :) After being 3 days away from home, I certainly missed my comfy bed soooooooooo much! Anyway, this year my family went back to my parents' hometown which is PENANG! Woohoo!!! Yeap....it's the state which has the most yummiest and cheapest food you can find in Malaysia..haha..So here's the updates on my first 3 days of CNY.

1st Day of CNY:

I woke up quite early which was around 8am because my family and I had to get ready and pack everything into the car for our trip up north..Furthermore, my sis woke up late as usual so instead of leaving the house at 9am, we left half an hour later..While waiting for my sis to get ready, we took some pictures. Finally after leaving the house, we stopped by our nanny's house to "pai lin" and have breakfast. Received some angpau as well..haha! After eating breakfast, we had another photo session at her house. FYI, my nanny has being taking care of my sis and I since the day we were born..so we practically treat her as our real grandma..hehe! we love her to bits!! *my sis and I with our "grandma" ** me, daddy,mommy and sis *

After that, we left straight for up north...traffic was very bad at some sections where the highway had only 2 lanes. Usually, the journey from KL to Ipoh only takes 2 hours but on that day it took us almost 3 or 4 hours to reach there.Haiz..It was really bad.. Finally at Ipoh, we stopped by at my aunt's house for lunch and some rest. At her house, I managed to watch CJ7 and my favourite, Alvin and the Chipmunks! OMG...Theodore (the chubby chipmunk who wear a green top) is so darn adorable..and it's not a kiddie movie okay...Oh yea the alien in CJ7 is super duper cute and funny..hehe! I collected more angpau..hehehe!

Right after I finished my movie, we left for Penang and as usual jam again..by the time we arrived in Penang, it was around 7pm.. had dinner at a Japanese restaurant until 10 something..LOL! Collected more angpau! haaha! That's it for the day #1 !

2nd Day of CNY:

My family and I slept at my uncle's house so today we had "hoi lin" lunch prepared by my uncle's wife (my aunt lor).. We had yummy soup, fatt choi, prawns, vegetables, abalone, and so much more..I didn't take any pictures of the food though..lolz..After that, we visited my other aunties (mom and dad's side) and collected more angpau.muahaha! While going back to my uncle's house, I passed by the famous Fatty Loh Chicken Rice stall..which was OPEN! Too bad we were already full..here's the big signboard on the road.
Later at night, we had my mom's family reunion dinner at the Jade Palace at Wisma Chocolate..Yeap that's right it's called Wisma "Chocolate"..haha! The food however was bad and the service was even worse. Never going back there to eat anymore..

3rd Day of CNY:

Today was our last day in Penang so being my usual self, I will never leave Penang without eating at least some of my favourite Penang food.hehe! Luckily nearby the house, one of the hawker places were open so we walked there for some breakfast..Super duper yummy!! Here's some of the food we ordered..
* Penang Wantan Mee is the best! You can never find it in KL ** Penang Hokkien Char also can never be find in KL also*
* Penang Char Kuey Teow and Roti Babi *

A final photo session with my aunt, cousin and niece...Instead of the usual 4 hours drive from Penang to KL, it took us 8 hours...double the length of the journey...Haiz..I'm just so glad I'm back home....Missed my comfy bed so so muchie!


Introducing the new member of the family...little baby Amber!! She's only 1 and half months old..so darn cute right? heehe! Chubby and adorable..* Baby Amber sleeps like a log.. you can bring her to a concert and she'll still be sound asleep..*

Chinese New Year

Just one more day till CNY finally arrives.Yay!! Woohooo!! =) Hence, today is officially the eve of CNY..I'm sure that a majority of Chinese will be all busy cleaning the house once more (like my family), doing some last minute shopping and wrapping extra angpau ( hmm..sounds familar?) LOL! Most importantly, getting ready to attend their reunion dinner. Yeap..no matter how small your family is, a reunion dinner is a definite must and I agree that it should remain as a tradition or custom( not sure). Anyway, it's a time for everyone in the family to get together and enjoy a nice and yummy dinner and just catch up with each other.


No doubt as a little kid, I had always enjoyed this celebration.hehe! From the wrapping the angpaus, helping my nanny make honeycomb cookies (used to), decorating the house, lion dances *roar*, visiting friends and relatives, and of course collecting angpau $$$$$ and eating yummy cookies *drools*..I absolutely love being involved in the whole process..So despite me being still sick right now, nothing is going to stop from enjoying CNY at all. Haha!


After all these years, I noticed that I'm a person who is really fascinated by all the old folk tales, customs and traditions of my race la of course...so I tend to follow most of the customs that we are required to follow during CNY like for example, on the 1st day of CNY we are actually not allowed to sew or cut anything because it will be like either preventing the God of Wealth from giving you money or losing all the money the God of Wealth has given you...but of course for those people who have to cook, it's alright...haha! I know you guys are probably thinking that I'm such a superstitious person. Lol! Don't fret, cause I'm not someone whose really old okay....haha..I'm just someone who loves and is very fascinated by my traditions and customs. It would really be a waste if our ancient tradition,which has been followed by many generations, be lost and nobody will ever know the true meaning behind each tradition and tale.


So stay true to your roots! Appreciate it before it goes extinct.


By the way, I'll be going back to my hometown..so there won't be any post but not to worry as I will post up how I spent my CNY when I come back...hehe!

The Amazing Race Asia

I wanna join TARA!!!! Seriously I wanna join man...Despite the fact that I don't know how to swim( yes i really dunno how to swim.LOL!) and that I never dare take any chances, I think it would be really cool if I manage to get in..I'm certain that this race will definitely force me to conquer all my fears and be daring for once!

Lately I saw the advertisement on auditioning for the race...I immediately told my parents that I wanted to join....but right after that, I noticed at the bottom of the ad..it stated "All participants have to be 21 years and above...." Darn it! Haiz I guess I have to wait for another year lor..but come to think of it..I think I'll only be able to join after I graduate from university..or else I'm sure gonna miss my studies..


Any how...I'm 100% determined to join The Amazing Race ASIA!! Woooohooo!! =D

Last Minute

I'm not sure whether today was my day or not..Lolx! I was supposed to go have my last minute haircut and get my eyebrows threaded BUT when I went there..it was CLOSED! Both my usual hair saloon and threading place is closed..argh! I can understand if the hair saloon closed but why the threading place too?no chinese staff working there also..ish!

Oh well, as I really needed a haircut...okay its more of a hair trim...I went to Kimarie in SS2..There so many people hence I had to wait of course. Anyway I had my hair cut and wash by a senior stylist..I only had to pay RM25, which is an average price...Overall, I'm very satisfied with my hair right now...here's some pictures my fringe..just the way i like :)
It may look as though i didn't cut my hair at all but i DID! its much shorter than it looks.

After that, I decided to get my nails done at another place somewhere in SS2 where my mom has been doing her nails lately..The service is really good and the price is alright..However, it would be preferable if you are someone who appreciates every single detail and hard work put in in making it look pretty..Anyway, I decided to go a try and I did a manicure and a pedicure with nail art..It looks really nice especially my toenails with the nail art..At first I thought I made a wrong decision in picking the colour but it turned out alright.Yay!

Oh well at least I got something done..

A Typical Sunday

Nothing interesting happened today.. :(


Well that's because I was stuck at home all day long. Sounds so boring right?..Yea it is..Lol...However, like I said in my previous post I did organize and clean out my closet. Hehe! My clothes are now all folded neatly and nicely=D (thanks to my experience at work.hehe!) Hopefully my clothes will stay that way though...Based on my past experience, my clothes will be all messed up again in a few weeks I think...LOL!


Since the last time I cleaned my closet and cleared out the clothes which I can no longer wear, I only threw out a few pieces. Hmm...I guess that means I didn't gain much weight??? Lol..But somehow I feel I did gain weight though..even though my nanny said I lost weight...So I'm somewhat sad and happy at the same time..Oh well, I know myself better than anyone else right?


Anyway, CNY is just a few days away...I can't wait for all the yummy COOKIES *drools*, gambling and of course the ANGPAU collecting $$$$$ !! Just thinking of all the yummy cookies, just makes me want to get well even sooner...yea I'm still SICK! Ugh! Why am I still sick?! I've been drinking loads of water and not eating any oily and fried food! I also ate medicine though I didn't see the doc..Lol!

Sparkling Clean

Yes finally my cellphone is back with me..hehe..missed it too much!!! It's fixed and still in good condition!yay!! wee! =p


Lately I've not been feeling very well..haiz..at first having sore throat but now not so bad edi..its more of cough and flu..Hopefully I can get well by Chinese New Year la..or else I won't be able to enjoy it...Every year before CNY , I'm sure bound to get sick no matter how much I take care of myself. Haiz! Oh well, I told myself if that I don't get well by CNY, I die die also must still enjoy all my favourite food. I'll just have to suffer more later. LOL! Hopefully I don't have to go through that though. Hehe! :)


Anyway, today was the day I finally decided to clean up my room after almost 3 months since my holidays started. I cleaned my ceiling fan, desk, table tops and even my windows! Changed new curtains and bedsheets....Everything la! Threw away most of my junk too! Haha!My room is now SPARKLING CLEAN!!! Even my parents are SHOCKED about my room being so clean! Lol! But I told them don't expect me to that every week..haha..I only do this maybe twice a year only...Yes I damn lazy. However, i still do clean my room every week but it's not as sparkling clean as it is at this moment. Hehe!!


I was suppose to clean up my closet as well but too tired edi so I'm doing it tomorrow. Going to give away my old clothes so that I will have an excuse to BUY NEW ONES!! Muahahaaha!!! :D

Sleepy

I'm so dead tired right now....Seriously dead tired from working the WHOLE DAY! I was working from 10.00am to 10.30pm man..serious shyt! Hardly had any time to go for break.


Anyway, I finally bought my Promod dress today. Yay! After reserving it for more than a month, I finally own it. hehe! It's a really simple lil black dress which has a cute red belt. I'm absolutely in love with it even though it's only a simple black dress. Hehehe! =)

Oh yea, the people from Sony Ericsson called to say that my baby is okay already and that I can pick it up anytime. So tomorrow I'm going to pick it up. Hopefully it's really fixed and that I don't have to bring it back to them anymore. *praying very very hard*
